It all started with two producers from Capcom and Namco appearing at the Evo fighting tournament event last week in Las Vegas — with Bandai’s Katsuhiro Harada and Capcom’s Yoshinori Ono together onstage at the event — they got people speculating on an upcoming Capcom Vs Namco fighting game. Furthermore, Game Informer even have sources saying that this collaboration from both parties will be reality soon enough.
Sources told GI that the game will have two versions, Capcom Vs Namco and Namco Vs. Capcom. It was even reported that each version will be running on totally different engines, so as to say, Capcom’s version will be running on Street Fighter IV engine, while Namco’s version will be running on the Tekken 6 engine. Also, the game is said to be announced as a surprise at Comic-Con this coming weekend.
If this rumor is real, we just might have a candidate to rival Marvel vs. Capcom 3.
Update: Here is a poster image for the game. Not officially confirmed, so take it as it is.
