Ubisoft DRM Stops Australian Gamers Playing Settlers 7, Again!

More trouble are arising from Ubisoft’s ‘always connected to an internet connection’ DRM fiasco (remember Assassin’s Creed 2). This time around it completely prevent gamers playing Settlers 7 and as always even when it detect the internet connection.

It is reported that the game confirms that there is an internet connection, but it will have an error “server not available” when trying to play the game.

We talking about Ubisoft’s ‘DRM’ here, which means this problem is not just for multiplayer mode only, but it also goes for the single-player campaign. Some gamers even reported crashes of the game and even the computer itself.

The problem arises in random places, but seem to be concentrated mostly in the Australian area. Ubisoft so far has this response to an angry Australian mob:

“Apparently this problem is especially common in Australia – we will try to get to the bottom of this.”

This actually started on last Friday and the game was released last Thursday, while it still has this problem going on all the way today. Now, now I am sure Ubisoft will send more of their old games to all these unhappy gamers that bought Settlers 7.

Isn’t it exciting though? It is like gambling when you buy Ubisoft games.
