Three “new” Resident Evil Titles confirmed for Nintendo Wii

Capcom has confirmed not just one or two, but three new ‘Resident Evil’ titles for the Nintendo Wii. A few days after Famitsu leaked information on Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles, Capcom confirmed that the game will be released in North America soon. Although, that is not all of it. Capcom also revealed that there will be a new ‘Resident Evil “Classics” series, that will also be released on the Nintendo Wii.

The Darkside Chronicles will be a light gun shooter and will take place during the story of ‘Resident Evil 2′. The game will be similar to the last Resident Evil light gun shooter: ‘Umbrella Chronicles’. Players for the Darkside Chronicles will be able to choose either Leon or Claire and the game will give you the option to play co-op mode. Also, in co-op mode you can pair up with a A.I. controlled partner too. Fans of the light shooter Resident Evil series can expect the game to be released in 09 winter.

The classic Resident Evil games will consist of the original Resident Evil and Resident Evil Zero. The ports will be enhanced to GameCube graphics standards with support for Wii remotes. Both games are expected to be released later this year and priced at $29.99 each.

Seem like Capcom did not forget the Nintendo Wii Resident Evil fans this year and hopefully this will satisfy them for awhile.
