Starcraft 2 by end 2009 says Blizzard
Blizzard President Mike Morhaime announced that Starcraft 2 is scheduled for release around the end of 2009.
“We’re targeting an end of year release–this year–for StarCraft 2,” he said. “But as always, we won’t release it until it meets our standards and the expectations of our players.”
They’re currently developing the game for release on PC and Mac simultaneously. The first instalment of the planned trilogy “Terrans: Wings of Liberty” is centered on the Terran Campaign while the second is “Zerg: Heart of the Swarm,” and the third “Protoss: Legacy of the Void.”
The first release will include a single player campaign that focuses solely on the Terran race. There will however, be a full multiplayer mode for all of the races. The game is currently accepting signups for the closed beta that’s scheduled to kick of in the summer. Here’s hoping my name gets pulled out of the hat!
