RE5: Battlesuit Jill Valentine up for Preorder at Hot Toys

0

Following the success of 1/6 BSAA Jill Valentine released not too long ago, Hot Toys makes a follow up to that by releasing yet another figure of Ms. Valentine. This time around, it is her battlesuit outfit, sporting the paler than most complexion and shockingly blond hair. Yes, our favorite zombie killing brunette has turned blond for the fifth installment of this critically acclaimed survival horror series.

Once again, Hot Toys does not fail to impress with it’s true to life rendition of the famed heroine in her darkest incarnation yet. The detail of the figure is truly a feast for the eyes. The items that come with this gorgeous figure are no slouch either. They truly went nitty gritty on this one. Her battlesuit is perhaps the crowning glory of this render of her. It’s my favorite part of this one simply because I know personally just how hard it is to find that same textured leather and in that color. Leather and other similar jumpsuit fabrics do not come in such colors, normally, and you will end up searching high and low for something remotely similar. Most Battlesuit Jill cosplayers rarely nail the right shade and texture thanks to that very difficult circumstance, however there have been a few very noteworthy ones despite that. Same goes for those who aim to cosplay Wesker in his RE5 version, not only is it pretty hard to find but it can be pretty pricey too. For short, RE cosplay can be challenging.

Jill’s weapon set for this one are taken from her Mercenaries inventories for both battlesuit and BSAA versions. Yes, you get both inventory sets with this figure. I was quite surprised they included the guns she poses with in her Mercenaries select menu display. Nice. I was hoping they would give her the mixed herb bottle instead of the first aid spray though, it would be more Battlesuit Jill accurate. That’s fine though. As Chris would say ‘That’ll work’. Indeed. After all, a first aid spray is miles more effective than a mixed herb concoction any day.

Depending on your fancy, you can have your Jill in her birdmask/medieval doctor suit, as they also included the bird mas and cloak to this set. You may also consider her zipping the suit up or lowering as low as you wish, with or without the device. I wonder if she’ll have the scars from the story mode or be shockingly flawless as her Mercenaries render.

Battlesuit Jill was first unveiled last January 12, 2011 with her basic Mercenaries mode set presented to the public. However, March 4, 2011 marked the update that would allow fans to also pose Jill in her birdmask/medieval doctor suit.

The figure it set for release during the second quarter of 2011 and is currently available for pre-order.
