Nintendo announced that Metroid: Other M and Super Mario Galaxy 2 is scheduled for ‘mid year’ release, instead of end of the year. This is a big surprise from Nintendo to not release these two main titles end of the year during holiday season, but rather middle of the year during summer. Probably, they are banking on kids that are starting their summer vacation; but either way this is a big treat for Nintendo Wii owners, who are waiting for some good old quality Nintendo games.

The announcement came from a conference held by Nintendo to announce some of their upcoming plans for 2010. KotakuAU reported that both these games will be shipped “mid year”, which is summer in NA and winter in AU. It is also reported that the black Wii will be available in AU on March 11 and the Nintendo DSi XL will be released on April 15.

Argh..cannot wait for either of these two games to be released. If only they announced the new ‘Zelda’ game releasing at the same time also, that would just be heavenly.
