Left 4 Dead 2 New Multiplayer Mode Revealed

Valve been keeping a tight lid on the new multiplayer mode for their upcoming sequel ‘Left 4 Dead 2’. However, Valve revealed their new multiplayer mode at a press event in San Francisco. The new mode is titled ‘Scavenge’ which is the combination of the Versus and Survival modes together.

The new ‘Scavenge’ mode will let players choose to be either the survivors or the special infected. The survivors will try to get through each round by filling up generators with the gas cans that are spread out across the map. While the survivors are trying to fill up the generators, the ‘special infected’ will try to stop them with help of course from their army of zombies.

Valve also revealed that the ‘special infected’ can knock the collected gas cans from the survivors, but also the ‘special infected’ called ‘The Spitter’ can actually fire them up by doing a Hydralisk spit on them. The match will consist of six rounds, with 120 seconds to start, and every time a survivor put up a gas can will get a additional 20 seconds to the round. If there is still a canister on a survivor then it will go into a sudden death match with either the survivor get the generator running or the ‘special infected’ knock or burn the can away from the survivor. The winner will be decided from the total score of three rounds each team.

Left 4 dead 2 will be packed with six maps for the ‘Scavenge’ mode, it will be released on November 20th on the Xbox 360 and the PC (I totally saw this mode coming from the first time Valve announced a new mode). Now we need them to make it a 8 man team with the old cast from Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2, which of course making it a 8 vs 8 all out zombie warfare.
