Over the years we’ve seen many great games from Konami such as Pro Evolution Soccer, Metal Gear Solid, Silent Hill and of course Castlevania. There’s no need to mention how popular Castlevania is as a gaming franchise. I don’t even know how many Castlevania games have been released so far, but I can only tell that we’re all waiting with anticipation for the latest installment of the Castlevania series. As you know we’re expecting to see Castlevania: Lords of Shadow this fall, but unfortunately we don’t have an exact release date yet. Luckily the box art for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow has been released so that’s something for a start.

Besides few gameplay videos we don’t have too much information about the latest Castlevania game. From the box art we see that the main protagonist, Gabriel, is wielding a cross like weapon that looks like a cross from Dante’s Inferno. It’s positive that Castlevania: Lords of Shadow will use similar gameplay mechanics as God of War and Dante’s Inferno and that should make it interesting to all the fans of fast action and violence. As for the story we know that Gabriel is a member of a Brotherhood of Light, an elite order of knights whose task is to defend the innocent people against the supernatural. Gabriel finds out that his beloved wife has been murdered and that she is trapped between the world of the living and the dead. The main reason that she’s trapped are Lords of Shadow and in order to save his wife and entire world Gabriel has to defeat this great evil. Story is similar to the Dante’s Inferno, but do not worry, it’s still good old Castlevania that we all know and not a Dante’s Inferno rip-off.

Release date hasn’t been announced yet but we’re waiting for it with anticipation. As for box art this is the first version that has been shown but changes are possible in future.
