AMD & Codemasters Confirm 3 Million Steam Keys for Dirt 3 Leaked

If you had received a key for Dirt 3 last week from a friend who got it from another friend and so on, it most likely be one of the 3 million Steam keys that went missing.

Dirt 3 is free when gamers pick up an AMD graphics card and will receive a voucher with the code for the game. Those codes were on a list saved on one of their servers and somehow it got leaked all over the internet. AMD finally address the issue and here is their statement on this matter:

“This past weekend, activation keys associated with free Dirt 3 game vouchers shipping with select AMD products were compromised,” said the company.

“These activation keys were hosted on a third party fulfilment agency website, www.AMD4u.com, and did not reside on AMD’s website. Neither the AMD nor Codemasters servers were involved.”

“We are working closely with Steam, Codemasters, and our fulfilment agency to address the situation,” it added. “AMD will continue to honour all valid game vouchers, however the current situation may result in a short delay before the vouchers can be redeemed.”

If you did receive the code off that list or you are not sure, then I suggest you should definitely report it to Valve before they start the Ban-Hammer.
